We began in the basement, tackling it first so the home remained fully livable while we worked. Within two months, we finished the lower level: a new bedroom, a kids' playroom, a guest bathroom, and a kitchenette. Once the family settled downstairs, we had the run of the main floors to do what needed to be done. Five months total, zero displacement. The kitchen became the heart of the project. Working with Amir from Küche+Cucina, we landed on a design that felt both timeless and warm. White shaker cabinets paired with gold hardware that caught the light in all the right ways. Clean without being cold. Speaking of light, it was a recurring theme throughout the entire home. We refinished, sanded, and lightly stained the hardwood floors to give the space an airy, lifted feel. We added new skylights and oversized windows throughout, pulling the outside in and completely changing how the home breathes. Even the staircase got a makeover. Out went the old spindles; in came sleek metal balusters and a modern square newel post. One of those details that quietly elevates every room it connects. But if we're being honest, the master bathroom stole the show. The freestanding tub sits right inside the shower space. It's bold, it's spa-like, and it absolutely sets the tone for the rest of the home. Full Project Description The owner had just closed on the house and knew exactly who to call. The vision was clear: take what was already a grand, character-filled home and make every inch of it live up to its potential. We started in the basement. The lally columns got boxed out cleanly, LVP flooring went down throughout, and what was once an unfinished space became a go-to hangout spot for the kids. Upstairs, the home already had great bones. Walking through the front door, you're immediately met with wainscoting, crown molding, and arched entryways that give the whole space a real French château feel. We leaned into that traditional elegance and built on it. In the dining room, we constructed a tray ceiling and integrated layered lighting to create that intimate, warm ambiance perfect for hosting dinner parties. The kind of room that makes guests want to linger. The powder room got a full renovation, and it might be one of our favorites in the house. A floating vanity with a clean quartz top sits beautifully against zen-inspired wood stripe tiles lining the wall. The contrast between the two is exactly the kind of detail that makes a space feel curated rather than constructed. And then there are the kids' rooms. We went with limewash on the walls, and honestly, it came out stellar. That soft, layered texture adds so much depth and warmth without trying too hard. The kids lucked out. Full Project Description Some projects you finish and move on. Others stick with you. This full home renovation is one of those. We did this one about four years ago, and it hasn't aged a day. Starting in the basement, the man cave alone is worth the visit. Built for entertaining, it features a full bar and speakeasy-style lounge seating that makes every gathering feel like an event. But it wasn't all about the party. Udi and his wife wanted a dedicated workout space, so we laid down gym flooring and enclosed it with glass for that clean, studio feel. We also had some fun with the lally columns, wrapping them in rustic wood-look square beams and carving out a cozy nook with a built-in bench cushion where the kids can curl up with a book. Every corner of this basement has a purpose. Coming upstairs, the kitchen was done in collaboration with Modiani and they absolutely delivered. Modern and contemporary with a seamless, refined finish, hidden shelves that keep the design clean, and a pot filler that's equal parts functional and beautiful. The details here are everything. The master bedroom presented an interesting design challenge. The room was so expansive that their designer made a smart call: rather than sectioning it off into a room within a room, she recommended a half wall to gently divide the space while keeping it open and cohesive. It works beautifully. The bathroom is something else entirely. We added a skylight that floods the room with natural light, and the freestanding tub at the center commands the whole space. No explanation needed. And the story didn't end at completion. We recently came back to reimagine a large unused area that had been sitting as potential. What could have been just a walk-in closet became something better: a fully functional walk-in closet paired with a peaceful home office. The right space for the right life. The client had gone away on vacation and returned home to find the entire house flooded. A remediation team came in and gutted the home down to the studs, and that’s when we stepped in to help bring it back to life. Insurance was a necessary first step, and once the funds came through, the owners had already developed architectural plans. We submitted those plans to the town for permits and got to work. The entire project, start to finish, took about five months. Our philosophy going in was simple: if you’re going to rebuild a home from the studs, you might as well go all in. The owners agreed, investing in the extras that would turn this into their dream home while adding real value as an investment. We gave the exterior a complete facelift with stucco, which boosted curb appeal immediately, paired with sleek black window frames and new pavers leading up to a grand entrance. Walking inside, the first thing you notice is the light engineered wood flooring running throughout. Skylights and additional windows were added to flood the home with natural light. We removed the walls we could, using an LVL beam for support, to create a fully open-concept kitchen. The space now features brand new appliances, quartz countertops, and a staircase that really stands out, with a wood top and metal spindles that bring a modern touch to the home. Upstairs on the second floor, the kids’ quarters include a full bathroom with a private toilet area. One flight up, the master suite takes over the entire third floor, featuring a bright office with high ceilings, a spa-like master bathroom with a freestanding tub, and a walk-in closet finished with a centered skylight. The home originally had a spiral staircase leading up to this level, and while it had its charm, we removed it to free up the space needed for a true, full-sized master suite. We also converted the garage into a finished basement with a guest bathroom. Because the home was completely open from the gut renovation, we were able to run two new air handlers and ductwork efficiently throughout, along with entirely new electrical and sheetrock. Having that kind of access from the start made this one of the smoothest full-scale renovations we’ve completed. The owners had been renting out the home for the past 15 years and were finally ready to sell, with plans to use the proceeds toward another flip and a personal project of their own. Normally, a flip calls for the essentials: a bathroom remodel, an updated kitchen, just enough to make the home shine for the market. But these owners wanted to go all out, and the results speak for themselves. Because the scope called for opening up the kitchen walls, we brought in an architect to help reimagine the layout. We relocated the kitchen to the right side of the house and added windows overlooking the backyard, filling the space with natural light. This shift also freed up room for a small powder bathroom, perfect for guests during dinners. We converted the old office into a guest bedroom with its own full bathroom suite, giving the home more flexible living space. Downstairs, we remodeled and properly finished an existing bathroom that had previously been left in rough shape, and gave the garage a refresh with a new epoxy floor. Upstairs, we remodeled the existing bathroom and installed new flooring throughout the entire home in a light tone that’s become a favorite among today’s buyers. In the basement, we laid large white marble tile and refinished the stairs to match the home’s updated feel. On the exterior, we added black gutters and black-framed windows for a crisp, modern contrast. The kitchen turned out beautifully, with a horizontal picture window that brings in natural light and a large picture window out front that changes the whole feel of the facade. But what really elevated this flip was the exterior facelift. The owners chose to modernize the home inside and out, adding a grand new portico with pillars and wrapping the entire house in beige stucco, upgrades that make a real difference when it comes to resale value. From start to finish, including all inspections, this project took about five months to complete.
